Religion

Christianity 
Christianity is one of the largest religions in the world. It was founded in the 1st century in Palestine. Christianity is a monotheistic religion, which means that Christians believe in one true God. Jesus Christ is the central figure of Christianity. The Bible is the Christians holy book, it  contains many teachings and stories of Christ. Christianity has about 2.1 billion followers. The religion of Christianity is predominant in the Western part  of the world (North America, Europe and Oceania). Christianity is just one of the many religions in the world. 

Islam
Islam is another popular religion in the Middle East, Northern Africa, Central Asia, etc. Islam as more than one billion followers. The religion of Islam was founded in 622 CE (Common Era) in the land of Saudi Arabia. Islam is another monotheistic religion and their central figure is Allah. Muslims read the Koran, which guides and forms the religion. The Koran also teaches about the aspect of life. 

Buddhism
Buddhism is a polytheistic religion which means that the Buddhists believe in many gods. But the central figure in the religion of Buddhism is Buddha--Siddhartha Gautama. Buddhism was founded in 460 BC in Northern India. There are about 376 million people who believe in Buddhism. The religion of Buddhism is predominant in the Indian subcontinent, Sri Lanka, East Asia, Indochina, the regions of Russia and The Netherlands. Buddhists use the Tipitaka as their holy book, which contains many teachings.

Hinduism
Hinduism is the predominant religious tradition of the Indian subcontinent. Hinduism has about 828 million followers. It was founded in 2000 BCE in Northern India. Hinduism is a polytheistic religion, 2.7 million of the 828 million followers are polytheistic. Their central figure is Shiva, who is the Hindustan god. The holy book of the Hinduism religion is the Veda, which is transcribed in Sanskrit. The geographical concentration of the Hindu religion is in the Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia, Fiji, Guyana and many more. 

Judaism
Judaism was founded in 2000 BCE in Israel. Judaism has about 14.5 million believers. The Jews believe in the Torah which is the first five books of the Old Testament--Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. The central figure of the Judaism religion is Yahweh, another name for God. Judaism is another monotheistic religion. The geographical concentration for Judaism is Israel, Europe, Asia and small pockets of North and South America. Christianity and Judaism are very similar religions.
